Gujarat maritime cluster ports, a dedicated system to address Ports to sea-based logistics, will be built in GIFT city.

- Though the idea of maritime clusters is new to India, it has powered some of the most competitive ports in the world, such as Singapore, Rotterdam, Oslo, Hong Kong, London and Shanghai.
- Simply placed, a maritime cluster is a group of corporations, firms and organisations in the maritime sector that are geographically similar to each other.
Note:
The maritime cluster project was conceptualized in 2007 and received in-principle approval from the state government in 2015.Last month, it got approval to be based out in Gujarat's GIFT city.
