According to INTERPOL, wildlife and forestry crimes was the fourth biggest illegal trade in the world. That is also the case with corruption, tax evasion, money laundering.

The operation has been in progress since 2017. As part of the operation, the participating countries concentrated on especially threatened species covered under the CITES (Convention on International Trade of Endangered Species in Wild Fauna and Flora).
