Udyam Scheme 

Context: The Government of India has announced that over 11 lakh MSMEs have registered with the latest Udyam Registration online system, which was initiated in July 2020.

Key Highlights

• Textiles, food goods, clothing, machinery and supplies, and processed metal products are the top five registration markets.

• Rajasthan, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Gujarat and Uttar Pradesh are the principal states in the registration process.

• Registration shall be filed at the Udyam registration portal by a person willing to establish himself as a micro, medium or small enterprise. 

• Separately, the Udyam Sakhi portal was launched for women entrepreneurs.
