Udyam Scheme
Context: The Government of India has announced that over 11 lakh MSMEs have registered with the latest Udyam Registration online system, which was initiated in July 2020.
Key Highlights
Textiles, food goods, clothing, machinery and supplies, and processed metal products are the top five registration markets.
Rajasthan, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Gujarat and Uttar Pradesh are the principal states in the registration process.
Registration shall be filed at the Udyam registration portal by a person willing to establish himself as a micro, medium or small enterprise.
Separately, the Udyam Sakhi portal was launched for women entrepreneurs.
