Ganga Dolphin Safari
The National Mission for Clean Ganga (NMCG) recently launched Dolphin-based ecotourism programme including Dolphin Safari in Uttar Pradesh, Bihar and West Bengal.
Key Highlights:

The Ganga Praharis - the trained volunteers from the local community working for cleanliness of Ganga, will take the tourists on boat rides to view Dolphin in the Ganga river.

Besides, a new campaign, ‘My Ganga My Dolphin’ was also launched to conduct Dolphin Census in 250 km stretch from Bijnor to Narora.

India celebrates October 5 every year as the ‘Ganga River Dolphin Day’ as on this day Gangetic Dolphins were declared as National Aquatic Animals in 2010.
