Recently, the Indian Army Southern Command & National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) conducted a multi-stakeholder Disaster Management Exercise in Chennai.

Key Highlights 

• The exercise aims to enhance disaster preparedness and foster robust collaboration among key stakeholders.
• It features simulations, technological discussions, and expert insights into the significant roles of disaster management.
• Participation: Representatives from six southern states/UTs (Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, and Puducherry) participated.
• The exercise addressed issues including tsunamis, landslides, floods, cyclones, industrial incidents, and forest fires, focusing on recent events in Tamil Nadu, Wayanad, and Andhra Pradesh.
