PRERANA: An Experiential Learning Program

Recently, the Ministry of Education, Government of India has launched the PRERANA Program. 

Key Highlights

(i) Launched by:  Department of School Education & Literacy, Ministry of Education, Government of India.

(ii) Objectives: To offer a meaningful, unique, value-based education and inspiring experience to all participants and empower them with leadership qualities.

(iii) It is a week-long residential program for selected students of classes IX to XII.

(iv) It integrates principles of the Indian education system and the philosophy of value-based education in alignment with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.

(v) The curriculum of Prerana School prepared by IIT Gandhi Nagar is rooted in nine value-based themes: 

Swabhiman and Vinay, Shaurya and Sahas, Parishram and Samarpan, Karuna and Sewa, Vividhta and Ekta, Satyanishtha and Shuchita, Navachar and Jigyasa, Shraddha aur Vishwas, and Swatantrata and Kartavya. 

(vi) These themes aim to foster a deep respect for India’s diverse culture, heritage and promote the philosophy of “Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam”.

(vii) Prerana integrates experiential learning with cutting-edge emerging technology, bridging traditional heritage with modern innovation.
