India-Indonesia Coordinated Patrol (CORPAT)
37th edition of CORPAT was conducted in the Indian Ocean region from 23-24 November 2021.
Indigenously built Indian Naval Ship (INS) Khanjar and Dornier Maritime Patrol Aircraft participated in the exercise.
Objectives
Ensuring safety and security of shipping and international trade in the region.
CORPAT biannual exercise builds up understanding and interoperability between both the navies.
It facilitates institution of measures to prevent and suppress Illegal Unreported Unregulated (IUU) fishing, drug trafficking, maritime terrorism, armed robbery and piracy.
CORPAT is held twice a year.
It was conducted for the first time in 2002.
