Sydney Dialogue: A world first summit for emerging, critical and cyber technologies

The annual Sydney Dialogue is convened by the Australian Strategic Policy Institute (ASPI) — an independent, non-partisan think tank that produces expert and timely advice for Australian and global leaders.
ASPI was established by the Australian Government in 2001 and is supported by Australian and overseas government agencies, corporates and civil society groups.

Technology has already become a major instrument of global competition and key to shaping the future international order.
Mr Modi highlighted the leaps in India’s digital revolution that has redefined politics, economy and society and that it is raising new questions on sovereignty, governance, ethics, law, rights and security.
Mr Modi highlighted that there are five important transitions taking place in India:
One, we are building the world's most extensive public information infrastructure.
Two, we are transforming the lives of the people by using digital technology for governance, inclusion, empowerment, connectivity, delivery of benefits and welfare.
Three, India has the world's third largest and fastest growing Startup Eco-system.
Four, India's industry and services sectors, even agriculture, are undergoing massive digital transformation.
Five, there is a large effort to prepare India for the future.
