Aarogya Sanjeevani Policy
- The Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India asked health and general insurers to offer products to cover the basic health needs of clients by offering them a minimum of Rs 1 lakh and the maximum sum insured of Rs 5 lakh.
- The product will be called Aarogya Sanjeevani Policy succeeded by the name of the insurance company.
Key Features:
- The policy is compulsory for all health insurance companies. IRDAI has set up the premium for the policy in between Rs 1000 to Rs 5000.
- The policy will cover the amount between 1 lakh to 5 lakhs. It is also offered to insured persons in multiples of 50,000.
- Under the policy, the insurance companies will not impose the deductible. The insurance companies will also not provide the claim bonus of 5 percent every year with a maximum of 50 percent.
- A person lying between the age of 18 years to 65 years of age can get this policy. It will cover the 2% of the insurance cover for room rent during hospitalization.
