Ramanujan Machine

• A team of researchers at the Israel Institute of Technology has built what they describe as a Ramanujan machine—a device that automatically generates conjectures (mathematical statements that are proposed as true statements) for fundamental constants.

• The Ramanujan machine consists of algorithms that reach mathematical conclusions. These statistical assumptions are likely to be accurate, although they have not been confirmed. 

• The set of algorithms has been named after the Indian mathematician Srinivasa Ramanujan.
