Square Kilometre Array Telescope 


The Square Kilometre Array Observatory (SKAO) Council has approved the setting up of the world’s largest radio telescope. 

Key Points: 

• Radio telescopes can be used to track invisible gas and have the ability to detect regions of space that would have been obscured with interstellar dust. 

• In this respect, it is distinct from traditional optical telescopes. 

• The Square Kilometer Array is the largest radio telescope in the world.
