Sagarmala Seaplane Services Project

• The Government of India has launched the Sagarmala Seaplane Services project on selected roads. It is being launched by the Ministry of Sports, Ships and Waterways. 

• The project aims to provide air access to a range of tourism, religious, remote and unexplored locations near water bodies. 

• This is to make the trip smoother and to simulate tourism in these new areas. Ultimately, the project would lead to improving the country's GDP in the long term. 

• The important locations included under the Sagarmala Seaplane Services are Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Lakshadweep Islands, Guwahati riverfront, Yamuna riverfront, Mumbai, Dwarka, etc.
