Digital Voter ID Card

• The Digital Voter ID card is the electronic version of the EPIC or the Elector's Photo Identification Card. This will make the ID card available on the people's phone.

• It can be downloaded via OTP authentication. 

• This will allow the Election Commission to reduce the costs of copying and shipping hard copies. At present, EPIC is only available as a hard copy and must be created by the electors on the day of the referendum.

Key Points:

• At the time of application for enrolment in the voters list, an elector must provide his or her mobile number to the electoral commission system. When the name of the voter is included in the electoral register, he or she will be intimated by e-mail or SMS.
