San Isidro Movement

• The San Isidro Movement (MSI) is a persistent uprising against the oppressive government in Cuba. 

• Cuba, the Caribbean republic, has been under Communist rule for more than 60 years.

About the Movement:

• The campaign against the state suppression of artistic works started in September 2018 in Cuba. The censorship was enforced by Decree 349.

• In opposition against the law, writers, artists and journalists assembled in San Isidro.

• San Isidro is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
