About the Ramanujan Prize for Mathematicians:
It is an award financed by the Department of Science and Technology in cooperation with the International Centre for Theoretical Physics and the International Mathematical Union. The assets are made available through the Albel Funds.
The prize is presented annually to young mathematicians who are under the age of 45 to perform excellent research in a developing world. The award shall be given in the memory of Srinivasa Ramanujan.
