RRB-JE: Railways Recruitment Board Junior Engineer

RRB JE 2020: Exam Date, Syllabus, Pattern, Eligibility, FAQS

Railways Recruitment Board Junior Engineer also referred to as RRB-JE is one of the major exam for engineering students. RRB-JE is conducted to recruit candidates with science and engineering backgrounds to fill in the various technical posts available in the Indian Railways such as Junior Engineer (JE) Depot Material Superintendent (DMS). Due to a good number of vacancies that RRB-JE comes up with it becomes the choice of most of the aspirants. The official notification of RRB JE 2020 exam is still awaited. The aspirants are therefore requested to keep visiting RRB official website for latest notifications and updates.

The important dates for RRB JE 2020 will be notified under the official notification which is expected in the month of November-December 2020, however there may be a delay due to COVID situations. The aspirants preparing for RRB-JE are therefore requested to keep visiting RRB official website for latest notifications and updates.

The selection process of RRB JE consists of three stages:

  • RRB JE CBT-I

This stage comprises of 4 sections with 100 questions in total which are to be attempted in 90 minutes.

The exam pattern of RRB JEE CBT 1 is as follows:

  • RRB JE CBT-II

This section comprise of 5 sections with 150 questions and the time duration is 120 minutes. The exam pattern of RRB JE CBT II is as follows:

  • Document Verification and Medical Examination

After qualifying the consecutive stages of RRB JE EXAM candidates are confined to the final stage where they need to produce their original documents and medical examination report for verification purpose before joining the concerned posts.

The minimum percentage of marks required for the eligibility in various categories is provided below:

  • RRB JE Syllabus – Technical Abilities

The RRB JE syllabus regarding technical abilities is diverse for diverse posts under JE category. Hence for the detailed syllabus it is advisable to visit the official website of RRB and note down the relevant syllabus according to your related stream.  Candidates can download the consolidated PDF which is generally available with the notification at the official website.

After RRB JE releases the official notification the aspirants are requested to fill the online application on their official website, within the stipulated time frame. After filling the required details candidates have to pay the application FEE .RRB also has a provision to refund EXAM fees to the candidates belonging to reserved category when they appear in RRB JE CBT-1 exam. Subsequently, the candidates belonging to the unreserved category will receive rupees 400 back in their account on appearing in the RRB JE CBT-I.

RRB JE 2020 EXAM vacancies depend upon the requirement of technical staff of various departments. Hence it cannot be assumed according to the previous year vacancies.  Aspirants are requested to wait for the official notification to be released.

The candidates who intend to appear in the RRB JE Exam must fulfill the below mentioned guidelines.

  • Nationality / Citizenship: Candidates must be nationals of India, Nepal, and Bhutan.
  • Age: Candidates should be between the age group of 18 years to 30 years.
  • Education: Candidates should have a Bachelor’s degree/Diploma in Engineering from a recognized university.
  • Medical Examination: Candidates must pass certain medical standards as prescribed by RRB.
