Pinaka Rocket
The Defence Research and Development Organization (DRDO) recently test fired the advanced version of Pinaka rocket successfully from Chandipur, Odisha.
Pinaka is a multi-barrel rocket launcher system called the “Shiva’s bow”. It can fire 12 rockets in 44 seconds.
Key Highlights:
In order to reach a longer range compared to the earlier version, the upgraded version of Pinaka was launched.
The new version will replace the existing version of the Pinaka Mk-1 system that has been deployed along the India-Pakistan and India-China border control lines.
